Rob,
this is a very apt comparison. Marketers who don't adapt to the idea that prospective buyers want information, education, and assistance rather than promotion, a lecture, and a show, will quickly become obsolete. Very well put with a physics lecture comparison.

My daughter has just achieved her PHD in Theoretical Physics in String Theory and also has a flare in communication and marketing. What area could she be looking into in the promotional aspect of her field I know she has an aptitude to excite the listener.
